Päivi's dog school started in autumn 2001 as a way to gather all the finnish dog owners together and to train. The training is not targeted for obedience tests, but to help the everyday living in Brussels. It consists of heeling, coming when called, retrieving and the basic sit, down and wait commands. The dogs play together for an hour, during which the owners walk, talk and gossip. Every now and then the dogs are called back and turn by turn do what is asked. The dogs are divided into two groups by size as a precaution. The groups are not fixed, you can change if need be, as long as the dogs get along. The trainings are held in Tervuren forest by the african museum by Päivi Reijonen (and her norfolk terrier & rhodesian ridgeback). We organize an obedience test every autumn, if there are enough participants. Sometimes it is hard to get enough people excited, because the trainings are so informal that they are afraid to go to a "test". The dogschool's own new website
