BARF- Bones And Raw Food

Finally in 2006 we found a good place from where we could get cheap bones and good vegetables.

It's not important for a dog to get everything everyday, but get everything within a month. The plan may be changed according to what you have in your fridge and
what you can get fairly cheap (e.g. seasonal fruits).

The daily amount of 'wet food' is 2-3% of the dog's bodyweight, meaning around 1000g for an adult female newfoundland, weighing 50kg.
Our girls eat more or less 1500g daily, 1 kg of meaty bones and 500g of other food depending on what the schedule says.

The meaty bones should have the ratio of 50:50 of meat:bones, the ratio between meaty bones and veggies/intestines/other should be 60:40, though if we feed that much bones to our dogs, they get constipation.

Why BARF?

-healthy, fresh food
-teeth stay clean
-mental activity
-not processed food
-dogs seem happier and healthier
-dogs aren't tired after lunch
-decreases the possibility for bloat
-dogs are more active
