Is a Newfoundland for me?

Newfoundlands at home aren't the same dogs as you can see in the shows. When considering to buy a newfoundland, always remember the following:

Activities

-I have time to walk my newfie for at least 2 hours a day.
-I live near a forest/other where my newfoundland can run free
-I will go out with my newfoundland even if it rains
-I can find a pond/lake/other near to us, where my dog can swim

Trimming

-I have time to brush and comb my newfoundland once a week, during shedding and puppy coat more often
-I have the patience to solve the tangles, not cut them
-I will not shave my newfoundland for summer (the coat insulates and keeps the dog cooler, and the coat prevents sunburns)
-I am willing to learn the basics of trimming in order to keep my newfoundland in a good conndition.

Training

-I am able to train my newfie at least the basic commands (wait, come, sit, stop, down, no, give...)
-I will ask for help when I need it, before it's too late
-I have patience and a good humour
-treats, not stick

Money is spent...

I have money to
-feed my newfoudland good, quality food, approximately 55€/month
-vaccinate my newf
-emergency cash
-for worm pills twice a year

My character is...

-I like to spend time outside
-I have patience
-I have good humour

Newfoundlands

-drool
-shed
-wet
-destroy
-make  places dirty
